Words can't even describe how the first two days living in Perugia (the center, where ALLLL the action happens). Our apartment is beautiful. I have four roommates, so five of us live together in our three bedroom, two bathroom apartment. It's amazing. Our rooms are huge, our closets are huge, we have a beautiful kitchen and a balcony. Pictures below:)
The city is unbelievable. Breathtaking. Everything I'd imagined and more. The people are so nice. They are happy to help you with your Italian, but they definitely don't usually speak English. You say a lot of "ciao" "grazie" "buon journo" and numbers like for shopping.
The main thing that I've been amazed by so far is the food. WOW. Grocery shopping is crazy. Pretty much everything is fresh. You buy food, make it, eat it, and then go buy more food for next time. It's not like costco, where you can get things in bulk. You buy food to last you the next few days, not the next few months. It's great. And the grocery shopping is totally a cultural experience and is sooo worth it.
Our intensive Italian classes start on Monday....THEY WILL BE SO HELPFUL. For this next week, instead of our regular classes, we just have full days of Italian class. However, I already feel my Italian improving (remember, I only knew like five words/phrases when I left). I can get by, at least, so far!!
Anyways some pictures to show my adventure so far:
This is the hotel room that I shared with one of my roommates, Crystal, on our first night in Perugia.

The view of the city (now I live among those buildings at the top of the hill) from our hotel room.
My bed. Yes I did dibs this bed because it was the only one with pink sheets.
My little taste of home. :)
Our beautiful kitchen.
This is dedicated to Maggie Shishilla. He is our little friend on top of the fireplace that watches us while we eat in our kitchen.
A view from the very top of the hill in Perugia. Taken at a bar that overlooks this valley.
One of the buildings on the main street, Corsa Venucci.
Walking around! My first picture in Italy.
My little phone that does nothing exciting and costs me hundreds of dollars to use.
