Well, it's pretty much official (it is official)...I HAVE A HOUSE! And by I, I mean WE, because I'll be moving in with two beautiful Hollandale colleagues of mine (Katie and Vanessa) and one lucky other lady from another area who we are just getting to know!
So now, for the great unveiling of the BEAUTIFUL MAJESTIC PALACE that I will soon call home....prepare to be amazed.
So now, for the great unveiling of the BEAUTIFUL MAJESTIC PALACE that I will soon call home....prepare to be amazed.
We begin with the peaceful drive from Cleveland (where I'm currently staying at Delta State University) toward Leland, Mississippi, homeland of George Abide and now ME!
A little drive through town (note the Abide Furniture Store)...we're nearing my house!
TA DA! And we pull up in front of the gorgeous 607, the beautiful little red brick house owned by Mary, already sure to be the greatest landlord (she has 12 rental homes and all of them are rented out to TFA).
((the house is yet to be named, but I won't let this beaut go without a good one, that's for sure))
When we enter, we see this impeccable space (soon to be destroyed by the looks of cheap used furniture #sorrymary), the living room:
And to the left of that, the breakfast room/four season porch with french doors out onto the front patio (I'm appealing to Anna Ayers Looby with this one...some very inspired painting could take place here #andmywallsneedart)
And of course, where the eating will take place...
Unless it takes place in this GORGEOUS A** DINING ROOM, DUH.
FREEZE. TOUR ENDS HERE. VISIT HANNAH IF YOU'D LIKE TO SEE THE WHOLE HOUSE. (I'm leaving you in anticipation in hopes of drawing you down here for the full shabang.)
But here's another little pic of the beautiful town in case you need more convincing:
EVERYTHING IS REAL (especially knowing that in just a few short weeks (less than a month, actually) I will once again be in my beautiful beautiful bed in my very own room (not that I'm not totally loving the dorms and my current water proof mattress...seriously, don't get me wrong).
ps for funsies/HOUSE STATS:
5 bedrooms (only 4 are going to be filled)
3 bathrooms (like a luxury, I don't even know what we'll do with the other two)
on the same street as at least 10 other TFA teachers
across the street from the landlord
landlord Mary adopts her tenants as her grandchildren (she LOVES TFA)
landlord Mary's gardens have been featured in magazines (she'll trim the bushes AMIRIGHT NICOLE ANNA LYDIA #honeypot #youreawizardterry)
landlord Mary also part-owns a brand new bed and breakfast in town (a group of community members bought an old wealthy family's home from the 1800s, restored it in it's most recent 1920's plantation style, and are barely going to even break even with it, but they didn't build it for profit, they did it because the community needed a place for guests to stay and to hold events, how incredible is she?)
